Como Cathedral

Como, Italy

In the centre of Como, the majestic Cathedral re-acquired its glory with a new illumination. The church lies in a central square where visitors also find another important monument, the Broletto of Como.

Architectural eras get new light and bring their story back in contemporary times.

Sigma Flood projectors were mounted on the rooftops of the surrounding buildings and got meticulously focused for illuminating both the architectural volumes and details. The wide range of power wattage and optics of the Sigma line offered the possibility to balance both the quantity of light and contrast along all the facades.

The Main Facade of the church is almost 75 meters high and ornamented by sculptures, statues and architectural compositions of extreme elegance.

The lighting should enhance every element by creating depth, colour and shadows.

The Sigma Flood line is a useful tool for aiming the correct light on almost every architectural element.

Illuminating a monument is a significant gesture, since landmarks become elements of orientation and culture.
