Touristic port

Francavilla al Mare, Italy

Francavilla al Mare Touristic Port accomodates local community and tourists during the whole year. Cariboni Group illuminated the promenade, the green elements and Gianfranco Pagnini's sculpture with Ekleipsis, Omikron, Kore and Chara luminaires.

Francavilla al Mare is a town near Chieti in the Abruzzo region in Italy. During summertime it becomes a place for pause and experience summer holidays.

Its Touristic port accommodates local community and tourists during the whole year and its illumination plays a major role for this function.

The lighting project was articulated along the pedestrian lanes and green elements near the seaside, including also the illumination of a sculpture as the focal point of the promenade.

For the pathways, Ekleipsis lamps on poles were positioned inside the landscape architectural elements.

The sculpture paying homage to the victims of the sea was commissioned to the artist Gianfranco Pagnini and positioned near the sea in 1991.

Omikron pole mounted projectors illuminated the sculpture transforming the artwork into a landmark and meeting point.

Kore and Chara recessed light fittings were installed for illuminating the palm trees and add some illuminance along the pedestrian promenade.
