CityLife

Milan, Italy

Designed by famous architects like Arata Isozaki, Daniel Libeskind and Zaha Hadid, the CityLife project is one of the most innovative not only in Italy but also in Europe: with this intervention, the Portello district has completely changed its appearance, transforming itself from an exhibition center to an area dedicated to people and meetings.

After the transfer of the old Milan fair to the new Fieramilano center located in Rho-Pero, which also hosted the Italian Expo in 2015, an area of more than 250 thousand square meters was available. Now three avant-garde skyscrapers stand there, in addition to the largest pedestrian area in Milan, as well as one of the largest in Europe, since car circulation and parking spaces have been settled in the basement floors.

A wide-ranging project based on the modern concept of a city designed to be experienced in the round. In the words of Libeskind, CityLife represents "Milan as the portal for Europe" and, if the vast public spaces and leisure areas constitute an important panacea for the residents of the area, the three large towers are intended to become one of the new symbols of Milan in the world.

A district to live fully at any time of day or night: every element of this radical transformation therefore had to be planned down to the smallest detail, especially lighting.

For CityLife has been chosen Cariboni Group's Big Link lighting systems: a simple, essential and highly modern design, perfectly in line with the aesthetic characteristics of the surrounding environment, which is combined with functionality, energy efficiency and durability.
