Every place deserves its Good Light

Our new collection comes from the search for Good Light in outdoor spaces. Every place is different and every place deserves its Good Light, so we decided to propose different solutions for different contexts. We have ideally divided our areas of application into three macro-categories: the Anthropized Environment, the Natural Environment and the Hybrid Environment.

The Anthropized Environment mostly coincides with the urban space, the main users are human beings and the objectives of the lighting of these areas are the enhancement of places and the well-being of people. It includes both horizontal and vertical surfaces of cities: spaces, paths and architectures. The lighting solutions that we offer for these areas are extremely flexible systems due to the variety of lighting effects, adjustment possibilities and fixing methods. The products are no longer anonymous: both shapes and colours are designed to stand out, to be recognizable and to help define the identity of places. Great importance has been given to coloured light in the design phase: to the effects on the perception of an environment and its semantic dimension. We have therefore considered the potential of colour-changing light which makes the identity of a place dynamic and adaptable according to needs and we have integrated two different types of technologies into the new product lines:

  • Colour Changing RGBW 3000K, which offers the designer a rich palette of precise and vibrant colours or bright and pure white light.
  • Tunable White 2200K-4000K, which allows you to control the colour temperature of white light. The light can be dimmed from a cool white colour (4000K) to a warm white colour (2200K).

The Natural Environment, on the other hand, includes extra-urban areas of particular ecological interest and mostly travelled by pedestrians or cyclists: nature reserves, protected areas, beaches, wooded areas, structures dedicated to agritourism, mountainous or rural walkable areas. Night lighting makes these areas accessible to people but at the same time poses a real threat to local biodiversity. In fact, flora and fauna depend on the Earth's daily cycle of light and darkness and artificial light can alter life-sustaining behaviours such as reproduction, nourishment, sleep and protection from predators. Two new solutions make the illuminated space safe and comfortable not only for humans, but for all nature:

  • Dark Friendly solutions preserve the darkness of the night and limit light pollution by illuminating only where necessary (downward oriented emission), when necessary (adaptive lighting systems), as necessary (minimizable) and as necessary (from neutral white to amber).
  • Blue Free solutions reduce the blue content of white light and generate a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In fact, cold lighting causes animals greater problems of disorientation, attraction and alteration of predator-prey relationships and plants prolonged phases of photosynthesis, modification of growth processes and marked situations of stress.

The hybrid environment, on the other hand, is represented by areas of naturalistic interest but also travelled by vehicles: coast roads, areas adjacent to nature reserves, urban parks, mountain or rural areas suitable for vehicles. In these special areas it is necessary to pay attention to both the (real and perceived) safety of the people and the protection of local biodiversity. Although cold light is harmful to nocturnal flora and fauna, it still represents the best solution in terms of human visual performance and energy saving. For this reason, we have designed Switchable Light optical systems that allow you to alternate a very warm light with a reduced blue content (CCT=1800K), ideal for protecting nature when human presence is reduced, with a warm light with a moderate blue content (CCT=3000K), which improves human visual performance when traffic is higher and partially compensates for the reduced efficiency of warm light.
